The amazingly quiet Excelerator is designed to open twice as fast as conventional garage door openers, but closes gently.
Its rapid opening speed, 14 inches per second on average, is derived from a powerful, super-duty direct-current (DC) motor that delivers exceptional torque while generating very little noise. Keeping safety uppermost in mind, the Genie Excelerator gently closes at the standard rate of seven inches per second, on average.
The Genie Excelerator, the latest engineering innovation from the originator of screw-drive opener technology, features a powerful 1/2 horsepower DC motor that delivers the company’s quietest ever screw-drive opener. The opener is equipped with a gentle start and stop feature for smooth operation and reduced door wear. The polymer-lined rail surrounding the screw drive eliminates metal-to-metal contact between moving parts, enhancing its dependable performance even in regions with low temperature extremes.
Innovative product characteristics include two incandescent light sockets on a 4-1/2 minute timer strategically placed on the underside of the opener, which directs greater illumination throughout the garage. The hinged light lens cover can be easily opened without tools for maintenance, access or cleaning.
The Genie Excelerator’s exclusive one-piece door-sensing technology will automatically identify if the opener has been installed on a sectional garage door or on a swing-up type one-piece door upon the initial operation cycle.
