Garage Door Repair
Nothing is worse than coming home on a dark and cold night and finding out that your garage door opener has stopped working. What is even worse is that it is pouring rain you have groceries in the car or small children and you cannot get the garage door open. Of course once you get everything and everyone in the house where it is warm and dry it is time to decide what to do about your malfunctioning door. Garage door repair can be expensive so before you pay to have someone come out check out a few simple things on your own. Garage door repair is a part of maintenance just like any other appliance or tool in your home, unfortunately it always seems to break at the worst time, or even worse it may break midway through and be stuck half way up leaving your garage and all of its contents vulnerable to the elements and theft. Fortunately many of the most common repairs for garage doors are also some of the simplest and do not require the help of a repair company.
The most common garage repair is always the remote, before you do anything else use the manual button that is normally located on the inside of your garage somewhere, if the door closes properly then you know the remote is definitely the culprit. Before you replace it make sure to check the batteries, to make sure that the remote did not get left on somehow causing the batteries to die. Remotes are far less expensive than the entire mechanism however so even if the remote is bad it is much better than if you need a repair man to come out. If the wall switch does not work it means the problem is somewhere else, make sure that a breaker did not get tripped or that the unit did not somehow get accidently unplugged. If the door moves and stops it means that the safety mechanism may be tripping accidently, this can mean that the setting for this is not correct so it may be time to get the manual out and reset the limit switch so that it trips closer to the ground, this may be all the garage door repair you need and you will be back in business again.
Next you may need to get up on the ladder and check the tracks for obstructions of any kind, if the garage door hits those it may stop your garage door from functioning. If you have gone through all of these possibilities and your garage door still does not work, you will probably need to call a garage door repair person to come out and take a look at what has made your garage door stop working. If your garage door repair is as simple as a remote why not order it fast through AAA Remotes, they offer remotes for most every popular garage door or can sell you a compatible model that will have your garage door back up and working in no time.
